Very Creative Halloween Video
The combination of art and music capture both emotion and imagination.
The stop motion animation in the Halloween video not only gives the pumpkins life but embodies the artistic medium. I find that the combination of stop motion, music and the telescoping technique (at the beginning of the video with the trees and leaf) is a great way to engage the viewer; it effectively sets the tone and feel. Used incorrectly, the telescoping technique, combined with stop motion animation, can annoy and confuse. People don't like feeling as if video content is being forced on them, they like to be draw into it.
The speed painting video is a great glimpse into the mind of an artist. If you watch the video closely you will see the squirrel’s tail go through a number of changes. Not being an artist myself, it is very interesting to see the process a person goes through when creating art work.
The viewer would not be able to create a strong connection to these videos without music. Try turning off the music and watching the videos. Pay close attention to how you feel and how you view the video. Was there a song playing in your head? Did you feel more or less of an emotional attachment? From a logical stand point, did the videos still make sense? How engaged where you?
